“…having worked in the Arctic for 30 years, I can confidently say this was the best preparation I've received for our types of remote fieldwork. There was a near-perfect mix of generalized instruction, attention to our specific needs, and hands-on practice with equipmentWhat made the training exceptional was Will's ability to build from his own Alaskan experience and a strong foundation of published research and statistics and then customized that to our specific needs.”

Bear Guards

Our team includes expert biologists, firearms instructors, and seasoned backcountry professionals with deep knowledge of Alaska’s terrain and wildlife. Each of our guards completes a rigorous in-house training program designed to ensure that you —and your crew— come home safe.

We offer:

  • 24-hour bear guard coverage (continuous standby and active monitoring)

  • Discounted 12-hour bear guard coverage (day or night shift)

  • Hourly bear guard support for short operations or on-call needs

  • Installation of physical barriers and bear deterrent alarm systems around camps

  • Use of both lethal and non-lethal tools to minimize harm to bears

Our goal is to prevent conflicts before they start. We aim to ensure every bear encounter ends safely for your team and for the bears.
